53rd North American Silicon Symposium
Thank You All for Attending the Symposium June 10-12, 2024
At the Blackwell Inn
On the campus of The Ohio State University
Columbus, Ohio, USA
This 53rd installment of the North American Silicon Symposium, will be jointly hosted by The Ohio State University and Bowling Green State University and will bring together academic, industrial, and government silicon scientists and engineers from around the world to share in the most recent advances surounding the element Silicon. For over half a century, this unaffiliated gathering has met in more than 25 different states and provinces in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Please join us starting the evening of June 10 through June 12, 2024 for invited talks, insightful seminars, engaging poster sessions, and the traditional conference banquet. This year's symposium will also feature the biennial Frederic Stanley Kipping Award in Silicon Chemistry given by the American Chemical Society for outstanding research contributions and service to research in silicon.
This year's symposum will be held in Columbus, OH, USA. Located at the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy rivers, Columbus originated as multiple Native American settlements. Founded as the state capital of Ohio in 1816, Columbus has seen tremendous growth in recent years and is now the largest city in Ohio, the second largest city in the Midwest (after Chicago) and the 14th largest city in the USA. Columbus is home to the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), Battelle Memorial Institute, the world's largest private R&D foundation, and the headquarts of six Fortune 500 corporations including Nationwide, Cardinal Health, and Huntington Bank. This rustic city is also known for its nearly 400 recreational parks strewn on over 13,500 acres of land run by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
