Venue and AccomodationsThis year's symposum will be held in Columbus, OH, USA. Located at the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy rivers, Columbus originated as multiple Native American settlements. Founded as the state capital of Ohio in 1816, Columbus has seen tremendous growth in recent years and is now the largest city in Ohio, the second largest city in the Midwest (after Chicago) and the 14th largest city in the USA. Columbus is home to the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), Battelle Memorial Institute, the world's largest private R&D foundation, and the headquarts of six Fortune 500 corporations including Nationwide, Cardinal Health, and Huntington Bank. This rustic city is also known for its nearly 400 recreational parks strewn on over 13,500 acres of land run by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
